Worm Trees are in bloom!

Happy Monday to all my blogging friends! I wanted to show you how beautiful our "worm' trees are. The correct name is Catalpa, but we have always called them "worm' trees because it won't be long until the caterpillars are all over the trees and eating all of the leaves.

Isn't this beautiful?

This is the bloom! Looks like an orchid!

The only problem with these trees is there are sprouts everywhere! I am constantly pulling them out of my flowers. And try to kill one! Impossible! I have whacked some of them down only to have them sprout back up taller and bigger than what I started with!
One of my day lily blooms. I don't have the pretty ones like Mother does.

This is my current crochet project. Another tablecloth!

  2. I LOVE Catalpas!!! We had one in one of our yards and I ALWAYS thought the flowers looked like little orchids!!!!

Went by that house a while back and noticed that the current owners cut down that lovely Catalpa - - - what WERE they thinkin'????

  5. Hey Charlotte! I'm your neighbor pretty much! I live where the yellow mall is and the Jesus store! I have been here for the past 7 years! It has been so neat to meet other bloggers from the area too! Stop by anytime! I love your log header too!

  6. Hi Charlotte, What a beautiful tree, so magnificent! Love to crochet too, but haven't done anything in some time. Thank you for visiting and leaving your kind comment on my "Thrifty "RED" finds! I seem to be doing better at SA than The GW but I am finding very nice things at both places. I've only been thrift shopping for a few weeks and love it, so addicting.

  7. Worm trees sounds interesting and yes, it is beautiful to look at with the abundance of white flowers. Plenty of caterpillars stay? That means plenty of butterflies too! What a beautiful sight that will be :-)
