Great deals!

I had a gift card from Hobby Lobby for a few months and decided yesterday was a good day to use it. I stopped at Goodwill on the way and was very disappointed with the lack of items on the shelves. I did a quick look and left after less than 5 minutes! Thrift stores and Goodwill are no longer fun places to shop! But Hobby Lobby did not disappoint! 66% and 80% off!! I found some great deals. My favorite 'cherry' items were 66% off, so I got a coffee mug and a tiny cake stand......
....and two pillows for my deck. I wish I could find some cushions in this fabric!
The 80% aisle was even better! These pictures and signs were $2-$4! This one is above my bed....
This one is beside my crochet area.....
This one is in the den......
Love this cat!
A shell trinket box for $4!
 Faux taxidermy rhinoceros $3!
My late brother-in-law's favorite saying.....
I didn't get that one but I felt his presence when I saw it.
At Michael's , I found another parrot for 60% off!

Since it was close to lunchtime and Janet works nearby, I met her for lunch. What a great menu! I got a Fried Green Tomato BLT with balsamic glazed brussel sprouts as a side. Delicious!
Crochet projects have been a couple of doilies.....

And joining the Nuts About Squares CAL blocks, waiting on the border instructions.

Vacation is only 3 days away!

Friday news

I am over this getting old shit! My ankles are killing me and all I did this morning was go grocery shopping with Micki!! She's teaching me how to use the coupons and deals to save money. It's going to take me a while to get used to this but I'm determined. We stopped at one yard sale on the way. By the looks of the tables I figured we wouldn't find anything. Looked like a bunch of trash, but look what I found.....five boxes of Finish dishwasher tabs for $2!!!
A "pug" for 25 cents....
Fire King creamer and sugar bowl 10 cents each....
I tried the latest crochet craze.....planned pooling. Most examples have an argyle pattern and if you squint your eyes, you can see a pattern. I used baby sport and made a baby blanket.
 Added ribbon and roses ....

The battery for the "robot vacuum" arrived yesterday. It works!!
That's it for today!

Saturday news

Second day of the year and I thought I would spend it at home crocheting. But Justin wanted to do something, so we took a trip to Lake Wylie. He went to Gander Mountain while I went to Kirkland;s, Michaels, Homegoods, and Pier 1. Homegoods and Pier 1 were too expensive, even with the after-Christmas sales! I oohed and awed over the yarn on sale at Michaels, but I didn't get any. Kirkland's had a great sale! Their prices are always good but today the clearance items were 25% off of the already lowered price. I found some Christmas decorations for less than $1 each!
The birds bodies look like plastic wrap!

This picture was marked down to $8.97 but with the 25% I got it for $6 and change. Going in my bathroom.
Yesterday, Janet and I went to Hobby Lobby. They were packing up what was left of the Christmas stuff, but I found these for 80% off. The most expensive item was $4!

Back to today.....Justin and I went across the street to Goodwill. I found some goodies for me and the grandkids. Love this wooden globe....
 Paper roses.......
 Two tubes of wall decorations.......
 Santa shelf sitter.....
This Cars table set is for Xander and Josh....
The elephant rocker was bought with Declan in mind but I'm sure they'll all have to try it out.
 It makes elephant sounds!
This horse is for all of the babies. Unfortunately (or maybe not), I can't get him to make any noise.

He's also missing an eye but I can fix that!
The weather here has been crazy! Hot on Christmas day, then rain for a week, and now it's cooled off. The sun is actually out! Look what this crazy weather did to my bird feeder!
I guess the birds need to start the new year off eating healthy!
