Oh Baby!

Finally the weekend has arrived! I'm joining Beverly and others for Pink Saturday. Come join us!
I finished a couple of baby blankets this week. The first one is a Round Ripple Afghan. Pattern here.
The second one is a Wool-Eater or Bavarian stitch afghan. Pattern here.
I got a new book in the mail yesterday, Annie's Attic 101 Crochet Stitch Patterns and Edgings.

Can't wait to start experimenting with all of these great stitches. Some of them I haven't seen before.
They're calling for rain tomorrow but I hope it waits until after the yard sales are over.
Have a great weekend!

Pink Saturday

Joining Beverly and friends for Pink Saturday. It's been a while since I have posted for Pink Saturday, but with spring just around the corner, now is a perfect time.
I love spring because of all the beautiful flowers. My Magnolia tree is blooming...

The Japanese Plum trees are blooming also and smell so good!

My granny afghan that I made last year fits right in with spring and Dr.Suess's birthday...
Speaking of crochet, this is what I am currently working on.....
This is the book where this pattern can be found.

I finally bought this book and can't wait to start making motifs..
Hope you have a great Pink Saturday!

Pink Saturday

Happy Pink Saturday! It's been a while since I have visited Bevery at How Sweet the Sound and all of my friends, but I have a Pink Saturday that I want to share. First, the Japanese Plum trees and Magnolia trees are in bloom....

Well, maybe not all the way, but they are working on it. Usually just about the time they are really starting to be beautiful, we have a wind storm or freeze that destroys all of their beauty. :-(  Maybe we won't get any more bad weather for a while.
I have been working on a fairy doily for Micki's birthday in May. Oh, by the way, today is my youngest grandson's ninth birthday! Happy Birthday Sloan!
Back to the doily... I believe I bought this pattern from Annie's Attic. I've had it for so long I can't be sure.

I just noticed that this was designed for my friend Ann at BellaCrochet. Maybe I ordered from her.
This is what I have completed so far....

Hope everyone has a great Pink Saturday!

Pink Saturday Teacups

It's Pink Saturday again sponsored by Beverly at How Sweet the Sound. Everyone has such great things to share. This week I am showing my 'Boyd Bear' titled "Ms.Griz...Saturday Night". This is what I have been doing almost every night since November 13, 2009. That's when Janet, Micki and I started our diet. We went to a Bariatric Clinic in NC and started eating healthy. We counted total fat grams, calories and sodium. After a couple of days of reading labels, it became very easy to know just what to eat. A pill every day to help curb your appetite helped also. To date I have lost 43 pounds and have gone from a size 18W to a loose size 12. Janet has lost 78 pounds and has gone from a size 22W to a 14. She looks like she did when she was in high school. Micki has not been as lucky as us, because of the economy, but she has lost 40 pounds and is holding steady. I'm not sure what size she wears now. I will have to post some before and after pictures soon.

Here are a few pink teacups that I really love....

and a small dish with a mini-pipe.

Happy Pink Saturday!

Happy Birthday,Pink Saturday !

Happy 2nd Birthday! Come join the fun with Beverly and friends at How Sweet The Sound. This is the largest blogging party that I have witnessed.
I wanted to show everyone what I did to my chest freezer! My husband told me I was crazy, but we already knew that. didn't we? I had some of the "Ballet pink" paint left from painting the candleabra, so this is what I did....

The border was a piece of wallpaper border that I found at a yard sale. It wasn't as easy to stick as I thought it would be. I had to get my 'tacky white glue' and spread it on the border in order to get it to adhere. While it's not the best paint job, it looks so much better than the rust spots and silver paint that hubby had applied!  Happy Pink Saturday!
You can stop laughing now!

Pink Redo

Pink Saturday sponsored by Beverly at How Sweet the Sound! I have never seen so many participants for a meme before!" . I told last week that I was running out of pink, but it turns out that I am not looking hard enough! I need to start taking more pictures of all my treasures and categorize them. Good luck with that! :)
A couple of Saturdays ago, I found a candleabra that I knew would not stay in its brassy shape.

So, after purchasing some spray paint called 'Ballet Slipper", this is what it looks like now...........

Much better? I think so. Hope you do too.
One more little pink to help the Saturday get started.....

Hope everyone has a great Pink Saturday! Just finished my coffee and am dressed and waiting to go yard saling!! There are 2 church and 3 community yard sales on my list. Does anyone know if there is a "Yard Sale Saturday" meme anywhere? Someone needs to start one. Ta ta for now!

Not much left!

It's that time agian! Time for Pink Saturday sposnored by Beverly at How Sweet the Sound. Come join the fun and try to visit as many friends as possible.
I'm running out of pink things, but I do have a couple left to show you. I made this crossstitch picture for my husband shortly after we married. It just says exactly how I feel.

The next picture I can't remember where I got it. Either a yard sale or cleaning out someone's home when they moved.

And last, a sweet rose teacup.

Happy Pink Saturday!

Pink Blooms

Welcome to Pink Saturday sponsored by Beverly at How Sweet the Sound. I am about to run out of pink things to post but seem to find something when I really look hard enough. My mother has the most beautiful rhododendron bush in front of her house. The kids gave me one for Mother's Day one year, but did you know you have to water it to keep it living? :) Oh well, I never claimed to have a green thumb!

Isn't this gorgeous?

She also has a rose bush that has beautiful pink blooms..

It's not one of the new hybrids but one of the old timie roses like Grandma used to have years ago. Loaded with blooms.
She does have a newer rose that has beautiful pink blooms also..

Happy Pink Saturday!
