Saturday news

Right now I'm watching Outlander for the fourth time! Love this show and the books are great too! Can't wait for season two to start tonight.
Isn't this the most gorgeous 18th century Scot you've ever seen?  Yum!
Ok, now that I've got that out of my system (not!) I'll show you what Janet, Pam, and I found at yard sales this morning.
Pam found this blanket for $2! This is our high school mascot!
She found this horse for $25......it works too!
I got this jar for $1.................great storage........
,,,,,,,,,a stacking toy for Maxel for 25 cents.............
.........a mermaid purse for Della $2............

............more Disney figures 10 cents each........................
.....two bowls and a Hooters tray from Goodwill.......
I found this brand-new shower curtain and placemats from Goodwill also.....

........a king-size fitted sheet $1.............
.........an IPad stand thingy $1..............red placemats $1...........
 ............a dress for Della $1...............
 This is a "bumble-bee trap" $10.
Justin and I got some flowers yesterday. I got two of these pink honeysuckles and Justin planted at the steps of the new deck.
It's slowly getting finished. He's staining the rails and pickets and running electricity for the ceiling fan.
I got some "hens and chicks" for two concrete planters.
 Petunias and marigolds ..............
Monkey grass and verbena for the front walk.....
The pool is open but it's too cool for swimming!
Last week Justin bought this ugly thing for me from a yard sale when he went fishing last weekend. Bless his heart, he tried!
Hope everyone has a Happy Easter!

Outlander

Have you watched the Outlander series on Starz? I did and then I bought the book....
I finished it Christmas Eve and then I watched the series marathon again last night. The series starts again in April so you have plenty of time to catch up. There are a couple of crochet projects on Ravelry for the shawls and cowl that Claire wears on the series. Outlander Claire Beauchamp Cowl
Outlander Claires Rent Shawl
Another TV show I like to watch is Alaska the Last Frontier on Discovery Channel.

The last show was their Christmas Secret Santa and they made presents for each other. I busted out laughing when Otto showed his gift from Kelly. This is not the original gift but a lookalike from Ravelry............
If you've watched the show you would understand that this fit Otto's personality to a tee!
Hope you check out these great shows!

Disappointment!

I pride myself in being able to follow a crochet pattern and generally it works out. But then there are the patterns that no matter how closely I follow the pattern, it doesn't look like the original! I hate when that happens! I loved this pattern The Fat Bottom Granny Bag from Ravelry .............
The pattern said it was made using two strands of worsted weight but bulky could be used instead. So, I used some of the Loops and Thread Charisma that I bought at the Michael's sale the other week. It also calls for 20 rows but I stopped after 17. Hot mess! I even used some of the yard sale fabric for the lining!

It will not be tossed aside but used to hold balls of scrap yarn. Aarrgghh!
Did anybody but me watch the America's Next Top Model finale? Did you see that coming? I was sure Will was going to win!
 Damn!
He looks like Tyson Beckford, doesn't he? That's Tyson below.......
Whew! Enough of the gorgeousness, have a great weekend!
Oh, by the way, the local high school football team is going to State today! Go Cougars!

Pam's grandson will be playing! Good luck boys!

July CAL and Honey Boo Boo!

I finished the July CAL sponsored by Stitchy McFloss. After a few curse words and frogging, I finally finished last night.
I started this after returning from Tennessee, but put it down to make these two doilies for a friend. They are from The Big Book of Doilies.

Have you been watching the Stephen King show "Under the Dome"? I started watching and then discovered I had bought the book at a yard sale earlier this year! I've already read almost half of this thick book!
Did you watch Honey Boo-Boo last night? I thought the 'Scratch-and-Sniff' would be farts, bad breath or stinky feet. What a surprise! Baby lotion, barbecue, chocolate, and trains!
Have a great weekend!

Ghost Whisperer Fan

I have gotten hooked on the Ghost Whisperer series. Jennifer Love Hewitt is so beautiful! How does she cry on cue? 'Jim' is not bad looking either!
