Thrift store finds

Hubby woke me up this morning at 2:30am snoring! And he was laying on his stomach! Tried to go back to sleep but all I did was think about things I wanted to do today. So I just got up at 3:15. This is the moon when I went out to get the paper at 5:00am.
Finally got the hubby convinced that he had to wear a suit to our son's wedding instead of blue jeans, so off we went to have him fitted. He doesn't own a suit and probably never will. Anyway, after we got him fitted, we went to the two thrift stores in town. The tea set on the left is marked "Made in Japan" (see next picture). I found the "hand" at a yard sale later this morning when I went shopping to find a dress.

I also found three 'Golden Wheat' tea cups for $1 apiece. I remember my Mother buying Duz detergent and collecting plates, cups, saucers, etc. I found a complete set at a yard sale for $10. Another woman was commenting that they were from the 40's. I told her real quickly that she was wrong and that they were from the late 50's and early 60's and found in Duz detergent. She didn't believe me!

I also found this platter (19") and the cute 'hamburger' that is actually a trinket box.

Maybe next week, there will be some yard sales out. They are predicting another snow storm for Tuesday, so let's hope they are wrong.

I remember when my Mom used to get those from Duz. We also used to get kitchen towels from the detergent box. I think it was also Duz.

We go to the thrift stores twice a week to find craft items to sell in our ebay store. If it's a crochet book I get first dibs, though!
