Memorial Day Family Fun

Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day! My plans started out to be a quiet day since the boys were supposed to go to school for a snow make-up day, but that quickly changed. First, Rodney called and suggested a small cookout later in the day....just a few hot dogs. I said I had some ribs in the freezer that we could fix also. But then around 8:00pm, Justin informed me that our niece, Jessie, her daughter, Abby, and our nephews, Ricky and Possum (Donald) were on their way from West Virginia! Surprise!! They arrived at 1:30 am and camped out in my living room.
Started the ribs in the oven but finished on the grill. Delicious!
No one knew that Jessie had arrived so this is the picture she and I used to let them know.
Kids went swimming....

After throwing Possum in the pool, the grown men joined him. Stupid men! Jumped in with their clothes on, so they had to change into swim trunks until their clothes dried! Here's Ricky (left) and Possum drying off.
Justin with his sister, Rita and her boyfriend Hank. Jessie's on the porch. Justin still has those famous white feet!
Played horseshoes.....

 .....and cornhole........

......and football....

....drank orange soda.....

.....held babies......

I held Maxel but no one thought to take a picture of me!
Somebody (not going to name) brought some moonshine and Ricky was feeling good before they left to go home to West Virginia.

Luckily he was in the back seat and not driving! We really had a great time and can't wait until we visit them the last weekend in June.
Back to school and work today! Kayla is going for an ultrasound this morning and I will soon know if I'm going to have a great-granddaughter or another great-grandson. Hoping for a girl!

Saturday News

Happy Valentines Day! Justin and I have been married so long that we just wish each other a Happy Valentines Day without having to buy candy, flowers, etc. But I do try to get him a card. I found the perfect one this year.

He said I hit the nail on the head with this one! Love that man!
I went to Hobby Lobby to get some yarn for my next project in case we get some winter mix this weekend. Here's what I want to work on next.........
Pattern here.  There's also a red one......
It calls for sport weight yarn and I found all of the colors but the grays in sport weight. So I found these in a worsted weight that I think will work.

I then checked the local Books a Million and found issue 26 of Simply Crochet magazine. I haven't opened it yet, but I'm sure there's going to be some great patterns.
I've got about 20 more rows to complete West's afghan and then I'm going to start my parrot. If all works well, I'll make Pam one too.
I started a Facebook page to promote my crochet projects. I have tried Etsy with only one sale and thought maybe I could reach more people with Facebook. Please visit my page at Charlotte's Crochet.
Look what Justin just brought home for FREE!!!!

This is the sexiest boat I've seen in a long time. He's going to get it cleaned up and legal before selling. But first we're going to give it a try. Another perk of his job. Love it!
Weather is supposed to be cold this week so stay warm!
