Happy Birthday, Mother

Welcome to Vintage Thingie Thursday sponsored by Suzanne at Colorado Lady. This is the best time of the week when friends share their vintage goodies. Sunday was Mother's Day but it was also my mother's 81st birthday! She still looks the same as she did twenty years ago. If it weren't for the small strokes causing her to have to use a walker and a brace on her leg, she would still be going to yard sales with me! We were a great team because we always looked for things that each other liked. We didn't try to get to something before the other one could get out of the car. I miss her going with me because we could gossip and talk about things without someone telling us to stop. So, my vintage thingie post is going to be about my mother and some items that will always remind me of her.
This is a picture of Mother and my son, Craig, taken a couple of years ago. She still looks like this today. No, she has never dyed her hair! That is her natural color and it is still that way today. We just have good genes!

This teapot is not that pretty but mother always had one on her knick knack shelf.

I don't know the name of this plate, but she had a few that we used when I was growing up.

This is one of the many Duz detergent dishes that she collected each time she bought laundry detergent. We used these as our "fine china".

She had a set of dishes that included a coffeepot like this.

This tin is like the one she always kept her bobby pins and rollers in.

These things are not valuable in money, but in memories! I love you, Mother! You have always been my best friend.

Hi dear Charlotte...
Thank you so much for introducing us to your beautiful mother. I loved all the things you've shown, and I remember my mother and the ladies getting dishes out of detergent, tea boxes..oatmeal and such. It was always very exciting to my sister and I to see what was in the box.
Give your sweet mother,(whom I call my newest Sunbonnet Sue friend), give her a hug from me..and tell her I'm so happy to neet her. Happy VTT to you both..

No money can buy some of the most precious things we posses. A mother's unconditional love is irreplaceable. You mother and I belong to the same senior group. She may be just a tad older I am like her, what you see is me. No dye will be be on my hair.

Happy Birthday to your Mom! It's such a shame she can't go yard saling with you, because it sounds like you two had fun doing it. That teapot looks like one that my Grandma had, and I loooove those coffepots with the blue flowers! Tell your Mom I hope she had a great day, and she looks so pretty, but that I'm very envious of her not needing to color her hair!
Happy VTT!
Carol
