Yard Sale Finds!

Yesterday was another fun filled day for me and my girls going to yard sales. First, we had a church yard sale which is always a good one! Then, after several individual yard sales, there were at least three neighborhood yard sales! The first photo is of the teacups and coffee cups I found for less than 50 cents apiece. The green one is a Fire King. The blue & white flower set has a scripture around the saucer. The one in the middle is a mismatched set, but it looks like they belong together because of the gold trim. Love the creamer and sugar set. I thought I would make the pictures more interesting by putting one of my doilies under them.
The glass reminds me of my grandparents, although it is not the actual kind they used. The coffee pot matches another set I have. The 25th anniversary bowl and pitcher  and the stemware -just because! Another set of salt and pepper shakers to add to my collection. Maybe one day I'll have a "teaparty" and use them!
Don't you just love these ceramic daffodils? Showing two pictures so you can see them better.

Pyrex, need I say more? Vintage ashtray. Does anyone recognize the cartoon characters in the cereal bowl? I cannot recall what cereal they are associated with.
Most of the vintage things that I found were from one individual yard sale. They had tags on them that indicated someone had them in a booth at one time. The people having the yard sale marked this stuff  from 10 cents to a $1 ! My hands and arms were so full that I had to set some of my loot down in a pile and start another! Great yard sale! Found this "Half-Pint' coin bank at this yard sale along with this  Mickey Mouse "Soaky" bottle. It has Walt Disney Productions on the bottom, not Disney.

Butterflies for Holly

This is made with actual butterfly wings! $4!
Another just because....
This will also go to Holly. It's a peacock feather and some type of transparent leaves. 25 cents! We have seen things like this at Christmas shows for $25!
These boxes will be used to 'wrap' Christmas presents in! The hat boxes were 50 cents to a$1. Janet has already claimed the first hat box. The box with the ribbon is actually a 'mesh' box. Can someone please take a hint and wrap MY present in a box like this?
This Japanese picture is made with Mother-of-Pearl.

Another just because it was 75 cents! I might use this in my craft room.

These bags of sewing stuff were found at the yard sale with all the vintage stuff. I knew I would find something good in them.
The 10 cent bag intrigued me because of this 'thing'. Does anyone know what it is and what it is used for? Even Mother didn't know what it was! The red and blue 'Quality" thing is a double-edged razor.
The 50 cents bag I picked up because of the "Talon" things. Mother and I used to work at Talon years ago weaving the tape used in zippers. The tape is the cloth part of the zipper. Mother grabbed up the covered buttons. Look at the graphics on the black buttons!
The 25 cents "Sewing stuff' bag held quite a few treasures. Mother wanted the bobbins. Plenty of buttons in the plastic bags. I think the cats are used to make necklaces.
This is the best treasure in this bag. A needle threader from Singer dated 1936 and 1937!
This baby quilt panel just needs binding. Somebody is always needing a baby gift.
A grapevine planter. Janet told me to put a silk plant in it so I couldn't kill it!

And last, a Christmas decoration for the yard!
Until next week! Happy hunting!

Wow - that's a lot of treasure - so much so I don't even know where to start with the stuff I want... erm, love. ;)

(That bowl with the two kids heads is a particular favourite though...)

You must have a lot of room!
