Dress and bonnet complete!

I finished the christening dress and the bonnet ! Isn't this the most gorgeous thing?

The pattern is from the American School of Needlework and designed by Delsie Rhoades. I was able to download this pattern years ago when someone posted it. I'm going to start working on the blanket to match. Hope you have a great weekend1

Good grief! The amount of work that has gone into that beautiful outfit! I love it! I SO can't do thread, but I wish I could. I made one doily, about this time last year, and it drove me nuts. Maybe with more practice....

Visting from Meme's Corner. What a sweet and lovely christening gown and little hat. Precious. I am following you and put a link on my blog list so I can find my way back again.

Yes, it is just lovely! LV sent me over with her promises of crochet projects and I am delighted! Just found a box of American School of Needlework patterns from the '70s that I picked up at a church sale. Wow! I am in love with this.

Happy Pink Saturday!

I've been trying to find this pattern for years now. I made this several times for family. My aunt asked if the roses could be red while leaving the dress white. I didn't have a teacher nor had I ever worked with that style of thread. But that small request stuck with me for lifw. It was while trying to fulfill her request that I fell in love with crochet and later taught myself to knit. It also showed me that I could do whatever I set my mind to and to never give up. IBe often thought of this little dress over the years, but wow to actually see it, even in a photo, has brought back a tidal wave of emotions.
