I'm not a bitch unless you make me!

I have thought long and hard about posting this on my blog, but I have to get it off my chest or I'll explode! I was attacked yesterday by people on Facebook and it really hurt. Let me tell you what happened.....
I was friends with a young lady that has a photography business. She regularly posted beautiful pictures of her children and wedding/engagement events. The latest group of photos included a photo of the couple's hands with their pinky fingers entwined (aka. pinky swear). I commented about why a pinky swear photo would be included in wedding pictures. She replied that it was not a pinky swear but showing the wedding rings. Well, I understood that from the beginning but still thought it looked like a pinky swear.
Someone commented "some people can be so critical". I tried to explain that I wasn't being critical, just stating the truth. WOW! Here's where the shit hit the fan! She fired back "Mam, it's called being rude, not speaking the truth. If you knew anything about art, then it would be crystal clear. Can all of these people making GOOD COMMENTS be wrong? If your rudeness and negativity is a true reflection into your heart, then you need prayer. I am not sure how you got on my friends list, but you will not be allowed to leave ridiculous comments on my page from hear on out."

So instead of replying back for everyone to read, I messaged her...
You know unfriending me is about as childish as anyone can get. If you can't take criticism then you don't need to be in this business. I have always liked your work and that is how I became a friend. Just because I don't like one picture is no reason to unfriend someone. I was only being honest to you. If this had been a picture for my daughter, I would have told you the same thing. Just because someone expresses their opinion is not rude. Comments are each person's way of expressing their feelings. I am not going to lie to you just to stay your friend. Sorry you don't understand that.

This is her response:
Lady you are crazy. I don't need your crap on my page. From the looks of your profile picture, you aren't the picture of fashion yourself so your opinion doesn't matter. However I won't allow you to express your ignorance on my page! That is not the place for it. If you continue to blast and harass me, Facebook will be contacted and your account can be disabled.

Really? I don't think I deserved such disrespect! Then she reported me to Facebook for harassment!

Then to top it all off, her "friends" started commenting calling me crazy, weirdo, retarded, old, rode a short bus, etc. This was uncalled for and from a business person.

I am a good person but you cross me or my family and the devil comes out!

I just had to get this off of my chest and I appreciate you listening.

You must remember Charlotte you are on the web. There are "all kinds" (to state it kindly) in the world and you certainly run into them on the web. When you meet someone in person, you usually can size them up immediately, so to speak. It's different on the web. Don't worry about it.....

Wow - that was just ridiculous on her part. For her and other people to attack you personally because they thought your comment was rude just shows that they are 2-faced - not only are they being rude, but very mean too.

The sayings 'what goes around, comes around' and 'Karma's a bitch' always come to my mind in situations like this. They will get their rudeness back twofold.

Try not to worry about it too much Charlotte. I hope you have a good day today. :)

Ouch! People can be so mean for no reason. Debi's right; it will come back to bite them later on. You're a sweet person and very entitled to your opinions. You handled the situation very well, but I'm sorry you had to deal with it. I hope the rest of your week is better.

Whatever the misunderstanding was about, no one should hurt another! She shouldn't have said you all those words, oh my, how rude of her!
Please get over it,Charlotte, and don't get stressed coz of people who are not part of your life and actually don't mean anything to you.She showed her true face, so you ignore. Take care!

There will be a time she may have wished she didn't post her comments. If it was on her FB page, where a possibility of a new client could see it. They may think twice about not using her services. I am a firm believer that you get what you give. It may come back and haunt her in the long run. It may just take a little while. Don't worry about it. Take care. Some people are like that and the fact that she is in business she should be able to face even if it was thought of as being critical. It was just a statement/opinion given by you but people have different perceptions. Also, she should have personally contacted you if she felt offended rather than she being 'rude' to you publicly. It's good that you shared with us...sometimes unwanted things just strike us from no where. You are an artist making so many things and a very nice and respected person. Just let go such people who are ruined by some short term success in life rather than understanding life.

Oh wow...just...wow! It seems there is always somebody looking for a fight, so to speak, and you were the unfortunate person who had to be on the receiving end of it. I'm sorry this happened to you.

We all have a right to take a stand. I am glad you did and keep it up. Some people are just best left alone. I will never have a Facebook account. I think it has too much bad stuff on it. You are okay, just hang in.

Wow...she went off the deep end. I think you are better off being "unfriended" by her. I had a comment taken wrongly too in the past. It happens and it is strange the way everyone attacks you. Now I try to only leave very positive comments (at least I think they are positive). By the way Charlotte you left a very sweet comment on my blog regarding my crochet throw, "Candy Cane" which I appreciated very much. You advised that it was mentioned on a FB Crochet Group and I was wondering which one? I'm on FB too under my personal name. Forget this lady there are others out there to follow and friend. I love your signature on your blog. How did you do that?

I was sure I'd commented on this previously, but I probably just thought I did knowing me!!

Anyhow, I'm sorry you had to deal with this. It's a sad fact that on the internet people are often less concerned with how they treat each other, which is such a shame.
Don't worry about it Charlotte, she has done you a favour really by removing her negative influence and now you can move onto better things.
Hugs!!
