And the yard sales begin!

We know yard sale season has begun when a local church has their yard sale. Usually Pam and I are standing in line waiting for the doors to open at 7:00 am, but Pam was in the mountains and I didn't want to get up! I got up when Pam and I are normally going out the door and I made it to the yard sale an hour late. There were still quite a few people at the sale and I found a few things.
Some old Workbasket magazines (1990) for $1.....
There wasn't very many crochet patterns, but you never know! Have you noticed that the crochet patterns from years past are "simple and boring"? No wonder people associate crochet with grandma!
A Springer Spaniel for $2. This thing is heavy, might be cast iron!
Resin snowmen for $1. I'm thinking of dry-brushing them to give it some color.
That's all I got! Maybe next week will be better. I've been working on Pam's Double Wedding Ring afghan for the past two weeks. No wonder she got discouraged! This pattern is a beast! The white squares between the rings was supposed to be square, but no matter what I did, they just wouldn't work! So I just made two rounds of a granny square with a round of double crochet and sewed them into place.

I'll be glad when this thing is finished! Today is supposed to be nice weather-wise. Probably go visit my new great-grandson. He and mom came home yesterday.
Happy weekend!

Looks like you're off to a good start, garage sale-wise. :) Nice to see a pic of the new mom and baby. Looks like they're both doing well. :)
