Saturday News

Rain, rain, rain! I'm not complaining because of the drought, but I do wish it had been a little drier today for Kayla's baby shower. Not many people attended but it was nice none the less.
Why do kids stick their tongue out when you try to take their picture? At least her friend was smiling. She's expecting a boy too!
Thanks to my sweet DIL, Holly, and her mom and sister for throwing the shower.

Sister Ashton keeps tab of who gave each gift.

Holly's sister, Hillary, helped with Maxel.
 Great-great grandma Jeanette.

There's the elephant rug I made for her.

And the afghan I made also.

Great-great grandma Jeanette made the rocking horse......
 .......and the quilt.....

 Maxel took a few steps.....
Declan Rye Waylon Blancke is due in November but he might come earlier.
Pam was at her mountain cabin today and wasn't able to make the shower. She had to attend a meeting in West Jefferson.
Before she left Friday afternoon, she and I went to an early yard sale. I got this princess phone for $1......
...and this primitive doll for $2.
Rain is supposed to be around for a couple more days. At least it feels like fall!

Ohhh...I love baby showers! How wonderful that she got so many nice, handmade gifts. Love your elephant rug!! As for the sticking tongues out when a pic is being taken....when that happens to me, I always tell the person that I'm taking the pic either way, so it's up to them if they want to have their tongue sticking out in the pic. It does not deter me. :D lol
