Then I headed for town and stopped at the Rose Hill cemetary in the middle of town. I have lived in York for 45 years and have never visited this cemetary. It is filled with people as earlier as the 1800's and confederate soldiers.
I was spellbound by the history on these tombstones..
I plan on visiting again. Then I walked down a few blocks and took some pictures of some of the old houses. They are gorgeous!
Look how they laid the sidewalk around this tree..
I hope you enjoy these pictures of my hometown.

Those are some pretty old houses. I wonder if any of them are haunted? Ooooo...
Thanks for sharing these, Charlotte. York is such a historic town!
Hope all is well there with you and the family! I miss you, my friend!
Wow! I just love reading old tombstones sometimes! There's a LOT of history that most don't take the time to learn! Hope you have a great day today! Since I live in Dallas, (NC) we should have lunch sometime this summer! I only have two more weeks of school to go!
Hi,
I am your newest follower. I am a new crocheter, after trying for at least 20 years. I just couldn't follow a pattern, but now I finally have it figured out. I am pretty much crochet obsessed. I am also obsessed with ric rac and polka dots, and all things vintage. I plan to spend lots of time going through your blog and learning new things.
Please come visit my new blog, Ric Rac and Polka Dots. It is just a beginning, but I have lots of fun things planned. I hope to see you there!
Julie
