Not a damn thing!

That's what I want to say to my husband everyday when he asks what I did today. I know he doesn't mean anything by asking, but I get the feeling that he thinks I should be like June Cleaver and do a lot of housework. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! I hate housework! Always have and always will! Yes, I tell myself I should be doing something around the house, but then I wake up and say, "Screw it!'. All I want to do is blog and crochet. What's wrong with that?
Here is a progress report on the christening dress...
The first steps in making the dress was making 28 of these roses. What a pain! I had to make them a second time (that's 56 roses) because the thread I used for the first set was not the same color of white as the dress. It's hard to see in these photos, but the difference was evident when I started attaching them. Even my dear hubby could see the difference.

Today is my youngest granddaughter's 14th birthday. Happy Birthday, Kayla !

Oh, those little flowers are just the perfect touch.

My husband's favorite saying is "If Bev ain't happy -- aint' nobody happy." If all men could get that through their heads about their wives both sides would be happier, right? ;-)

Do you have your pearls on while you are blogging & crocheting....I laughed out loud...so funny a post...there isn't anything wrong with crocheting & blogging....if we could voice activated blogs, like they have in the fancy cars, tell the computer what blog you want to visit, it can read the post and you can dictate comments...all while movin the hook...sign me up too...LOL.

Nothing wrong with enjoying certain things. I sure he is like the resat of us has his own likes as well. My house will never be cluttered but dust bunnies are plentiful. I prefer the outside work as to housework.

Ohhhhh, I hear you there. I think we've all had those times when the last thing we wanted to be asked it what we did (or didn't!) do today. Far from doing "nothing" though, it looks like you worked on a seriously little beautiful dress that is bound to become a treasured heirloom.

Thank you very much for your cheerful comment on my post yesterday about my glee over soon having a basement of my own in the very near future. I really appreciate your visit.

Wishing you a stellar week ahead, dear lady!
♥ Jessica

Okay... so I had come over today to visit and thank you for the comment you left for me yesterday (happy to meet a fellow Carolinian!). But then I read this post and laughed out loud. Had to comment.

We own a retail seafood market...it's my "job", but only seven months out of the year. We're closed in the winter as their is not enough business to support the business!!

So for five months out of the year, my man asks me this very same question. EVERY DAY! The myriad answers to that question that go through my head upon hearing that are not fit for publication....

But when I respond with " Not a damn thing but clean lint out of my navel" I think he gets the drift.... and we move onto the next topic!

It's kinda' right up there with "what's for dinner...." from my kids EVERY DAY. "Pig slop" and we move on...

Have a wonderful day doing whatev..
