Dresses, dresses, dresses

Here is the finished christening dress that was to be for my future great-granddaughter that turned out to be a great-grandson!
Mother made a slip for me from a pattern she used when I was a baby!

I found this pattern in the Simplicity catalog but I was NOT going to pay $15.95!
This is a close-up of the original vintage pattern. When I showed it to Mother, she said, "I have that pattern!"
What would we do without Mama?
I found a blog with the most gorgeous "dresses" made from vintage handkerchiefs.

So you know me! I can do this! After googling and watching YouTube videos, I think I've got it! I started with scrapbook paper....
....and this is my handkerchief dress......
Upon closer inspection of Muriel's dresses I noticed that she makes a collar. I'm going to keep practicing.
The other blog Living Vintage has a garden shed that I want!
Hope you visit these two blogs!

Wow, that is a beautiful dress and bonnet, Charlotte! I'm sure one day you'll have someone to give it to. The slip your mom made is just perfect, too. Those hanky dresses are adorable; you did a great job replicating one. I've made "dresses" with doilies for cards, and I have a diecut for my Big Shot that cuts out little dresses, also for cards.

Beautiful crocheted dress and bonnet, Charlotte! Love your hankie dress, too. So cute! I'm anxious to see a picture of your shed when you get it made, too! :D

Oh, Charlotte! I'm glad I went back to look for the hankie dresses. Otherwise I wouldn't have seen your beautiful christening gown. It is just stunning! And the bonnet is beautiful too! Great job. And thanks for the link to the hankie dress lady.
